• HOW THE RIVER FLOWS

REACH THE LOST, REFRESH THE WEARY, RESTORE THE BROKEN.

OUR STORY

The River Ukiah, is a part of the International Church of the Foursquare Gospel, and has been a part of the city of Ukiah for over 40years. Throughout those years there have been several pastors, meeting locations and members.

In July of 2013 Pastors Mike and Jen Dyer became the lead Pastors of The River. Together they have over 20 years of ministry experience.

In coming to the River, Pastors Mike and Jen have shared their heart to REACH the lost, REFRESH the weary and RESTORE the broken of Mendocino County through connecting people into a life-giving relationship with Jesus. It is through this mission that The River finds its purpose as a church, and we believe God has designed us as a local church to help bring healing, wholeness and freedom to people’s lives.

In 2020 God made it possible for The River to purchase 3.26 acres of property that became the home for The River. Our dream is to build a campus that will serve our church, as well as bridge the gap to our community through providing activities, programs and facilities that will allow us to build strong relationships with our community.

We truly believe that our story is just getting started, and that ā€œGreater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this cityā€ as we continue to love Jesus, our community, and serve them both with all we have to offer.

OUR MISSION

The River Ukiah exist to REACH the lost, REFRESH the weary, and RESTORE the broken all for the glory of Jesus!

OUR STRATEGY

KNOW | GROW | FLOW

We believe that the old saying is true… ā€œIf you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time.ā€ We as a church will be strategic in how we function in our local community and ultimately our world. Our strategy is simple, focused, and full of purpose.

We want to help people KNOW God, experience His love, forgiveness and grace. We accomplish this teaching biblical truth, the promises of God, and the freedom that comes through a daily personal relationship with Jesus. We will take measurable steps to help people GROW in their faith in Jesus and find freedom through developing daily habits for spiritual growth. We will help people be whole by processing past hurts, habits, and hang-ups, and surrendering them to the healing power of Jesus. Then we can help people learn to FLOW with a purpose by using their God-given gifts, talents, and abilities to serve God and others and make a difference in our world.

OUR CORE VALUES

Our values shape who we are as a church and determine how we do what we do. These 10 values are non-negotiable for us.

SCRIPTURE: WE WILL PROCLAIM THE WORD OF GOD WITHOUT SHAME!

  • The Word of God is the foundation for everything we do.

PRAYER: WE WILL ALWAYS START ON OUR KNEES!

  • Prayer isn’t a ā€œlast ditch effortā€, it’s the starting point for hearing the voice of God for our lives.

OUTREACH: WE WILL ALWAYS LEAVE THE 99 FOR THE 1.

  • We will do whatever it takes to help people know Jesus personally.

SERVICE: WE WILL ALWAYS VIEW SERVING AS A PRIVILEGE.

  • We will be irrationally generous with our time, talents and treasure.

EXCELLENCE: WE WILL ALWAYS BRING OUR ā€œA GAMEā€.

  • We refuse to settle for average when awesome is possible.Ā

FAITH: WE DREAM BIG AND TRUST GOD FOR BIG THINGS.

  • We cannot dream dreams bigger than God can fulfill.

FLEXIBILITY: WE WILL REMAIN FLEXIBLE, TEACHABLE AND ALWAYS GRATEFUL.

  • An attitude and heart to serve, learn, and be thankful are key.

  • We do everything as a team, all doing our part to make it happen.

FUN: WE WILL HAVE FUN IN ALL WE DO.

  • We will laugh often and enjoy the ride wherever God takes us.
  • MEET OUR PASTORS

MIKE & JEN DYER

LEAD PASTORS

Mike and Jen met and got married in Santa Maria, CA in December of 1996. They were just 21 years old and knew God had a calling on both of their lives for ministry. After the birth of their first Child Caitlin, they moved to Lompoc, CA to serve as youth pastors for 9 years at Lompoc Foursquare Church. During this time they had 2 other Children Seth and Abigail and saw tremendous growth in several of the ministries they oversaw and were able to make a big impact in the lives of many people.

After much prayer, Mike and Jen decided to leave Lompoc and serve on staff at New Life Center in Bakersfield, CA. Here Mike and Jen were both part of the staff and oversaw several areas of ministry. Jen was really able to utilize her administrative gifts and served as executive assistant to the senior pastor. Mike served in many capacities, youth ministry, college/young adults ministry, video/media. After serving on staff for 6 years, they felt the call to become lead pastors.

The opportunity arose to come to Ukiah and lead The River. Since July of 2013, the Dyer family have been in the process of impacting the community of Ukiah and fulfilling the call to REACH the lost. REFRESH the weary and RESTORE the broken all for the Glory of Jesus…’
