In July of 2013, Pastors Mike and Jen Dyer stepped into the role of Lead Pastors at The River, bringing with them more than 20 years of combined ministry experience. From the very beginning, they have carried a clear and compelling vision for the church—one centered on reaching people where they are and pointing them toward hope found in Jesus. Their passion is to REACH the lost, REFRESH the weary, and RESTORE the broken throughout Mendocino County, creating spaces where individuals and families can encounter God in meaningful and life-changing ways.
This mission is the heartbeat of The River and defines our purpose as a church. We believe God has intentionally placed and designed this local church to be a place of healing, wholeness, and freedom—where lives are transformed through a life-giving relationship with Jesus. Everything we do flows from this calling, as we seek to serve our community, walk alongside people in every season, and help them experience the fullness of life that God intends.
In 2020, God made it possible for The River to purchase 3.26 acres of property that became the home for The River. Our dream is to build a campus that will serve our church, as well as bridge the gap to our community through providing activities, programs and facilities that will allow us to build strong relationships with our community. We truly believe that our story is just getting started, and that “Greater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city” as we continue to love Jesus, our community, and serve them both with all we have to offer.
As our church continues to grow, we are committed to making room—room for new families, new stories, and new encounters with Jesus. Our building plans reflect this commitment, intentionally designed to create welcoming spaces for worship, kids, youth, and community connection. We believe our story is just getting started, and that “greater things are yet to come, greater things are still to be done in this city.” As we love Jesus, love our community, and serve both with all we have, we invite you to explore the vision and plans God has placed before us and see how you can be part of what He is building at The River.

Our mission

Reach the lost, Refresh the weary, Restore the broken. All for the glory of Jesus Christ.

Our Beliefs

The River Ukiah is a Foursquare associated church. Our beliefs are in line with what the Foursquare Church believes, and our pastors are trained and licensed through the Foursquare Church.  For a comprehensive overview of what we believe please click the link below. OUR STRATEgY

We believe that the old saying is true… “If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time."

KNOW

GROW

FLOW

We as a church will be strategic in how we function in our local community and ultimately our world. Our strategy is simple, focused, and full of purpose. We want to help people KNOW God, experience His love, forgiveness and grace. We accomplish this by teaching biblical truth, the promises of God, and the freedom that comes through a daily personal relationship with Jesus. We will take measurable steps to help people GROW in their faith in Jesus and find freedom through developing daily habits for spiritual growth. We will help people be whole by processing past hurts, habits, and hang-ups, and surrendering them to the healing power of Jesus. Then we can help people learn to FLOW with a purpose by using their God-given gifts, talents, and abilities to serve God and others and make a difference in our world.

Core Values

Our values shape who we are as a church and determine how we do what we do.
These 10 values are non-negotiable for us.

Scripture

The Word of God is the foundation for everything we do and believe. We will proclaim it without shame.

Prayer

We will always start on our knees.
It’s the starting point for hearing the voice of God for our lives.

Outreach

We will always leave the 99 for the 1, no matter the cost. We will do whatever it takes to help people know Jesus.

Service

We will always view serving as a privilege.
It is an honor to sacrifice and serve God and people.

Generosity

We will be givers, not just consumers. We will be irrationally generous with our time, talents and treasure.

Excellence

We will always bring our "A-GAME."
We refuse to settle for average when awesome is possible.

Faith

We dream big and trust God for big things.
We cannot dream dreams bigger than God can fulfill.

Flexibility

We will be flexible, teachable, and always grateful. An attitude and heart to serve, learn, and be thankful are key.

Fun

We will have fun in all we do.
We will laugh often and enjoy the ride wherever God takes us.

Teamwork

We are better together.
We do everything as a team, all doing our part to make it happen.
